About
About Map of Belgium
Map of Belgium is an independent atlas of the country’s 565 municipalities, 10 provinces, 3 regions and 1144 postcodes.
Belgium changes more often than you might think: on 1 January 2025 sixteen municipalities disappeared through mergers, and many maps online are still out of date. This site is built entirely from open data and is updated when the sources are.
What you will find
- An interactive map you can colour by region, province, language area, population or density.
- A page for every municipality with its population, area, density, neighbours, postcodes and distances.
- A page for every postcode, a straight-line distance calculator and rankings.
- Maps you can download as SVG and use freely with credit.
How we work
All figures come from official or open sources, listed on the sources page. We do not edit the numbers. Population figures are those of 1 January 2024, the latest available per municipality; for municipalities that merged in 2025 we add up the former municipalities.
The site is free and financed by advertising. It is not affiliated with any Belgian government. Found a mistake? Let us know.
